Love

Leave it alone man!
There's nothing there,
false hopes and pain
that strike through
vital chords;
the note that screams.
Life becomes duty
in the name of love.
But to move on you must
abandon the idea
that something survives.
Ask Jesus Christ.
He knows.

  1. This poem goes down to a bedrock without hope. I think your poetry alone celebrates life in a way that is more than "duty in the name of love." Faith in god or faith in others can be shaken and tested, yet the very act of writing poetry or making art says we offer each other harmony, beauty, hope.
